FEATURES
• Maternity pen has a safety winch to allow producer to work in a safe position. Producer doesn't have to enter the crowding panel area to push the panel into closed position.
• Rear head-gate control allows easy gate operation from behind the maternity pen. This means less stress for cattle as they are further from the handler. Also, one person can safely and easily operate the system.
• Look-out door located in front of maternity pen. This allows the cow to see outside, so she is much more willing to enter the headgate. The 'I saw the light' feature!
• Fully insulated and sheeted medicine room. A hot water tank, sink, and fridge are all options for add-ons.
• Fully portable unit with built-in skids.

CALVING BARN
This portable unit is comprised of three detachable sections. The side sections are 12 feet wide by 30 feet long, and 10 feet high. The left section is equipped with a built-in (to the frame) heavy duty steel maternity pen, and two large box stalls, also built into the frame with heavy two-inch pipe and slam latches. The right section is comprised of a fully insulated and heated medicine/tack room, and another two box stalls. The middle section is 13 feet high by 30 feet long, and 9 feet wide, with two-foot windows spanning the full length of the barn on both sides, to allow for good lighting. There are heavy duty swinging doors on either end for easy cleaning. The middle section also acts as an alley to get into the maternity pen and box stalls. The barn is fully wired with water sealed electrical system. These three sections pushed into place and pinned together, make for a fully functioning, easy to use calving barn with everything you need for the season.
KEY BENEFITS
Tecumseh is always looking for innovative ways to encourage progressive practices, and thus we strive to build products to realize this vision. The calving barn will allow calving in clean pastures due to its portability, and thus markedly minimize the spread of disease and typical contamination of calving grounds throughout the season.
Those familiar with the Sandhill's Calving System, or similar calving management practices, will find this barn to be especially useful for rotation to different calving grounds.
